This month, TAG Heuer will maintain its on-board involvement in both the 34th annual America’s Cup Finals, Sept. 7-21 and the first annual Red Bull Youth Americas Cup now through Sept. 4.
This year America’s Cup will be held in the San Francisco bay. Here, TAG Heuer’s partner Oracle Team USA will compete. The team will be aboard 72-foot wing-sail catamarans. Currently, TAG Heuer is seeing Team Tilt through the first ever Red Bull Youth Americas Cup where ten national teams of six sailors, aged 19 to 24, compete on wing-sailed AC45 catamarans.
In celebration of its involvement and partner teams, TAG Heuer is also releasing another Aquaracer 500M Limited Edition. On the heals of last year’s Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5 and the Aquaracer 500M Calibre 16 Chronograph, comes the Aquaracer 500M Calibre 72 Countdown Autonatic Chronograph 43mm. The model was named after the length of this year’s America’s Cup boats, 72-feet as afore mentioned. The dial is stamped with the team’s logo as well as a depiction of the AC72 boat on the case back. The timepiece was designed by team CEO Sir Russell Coutts and skipper Jimmy Spithill and sports the Oracle Team USA colors of red, black and white.
