(Sponsored Post) G-SHOCK has added premium features to a new model in its high-end MT-G connected watch collection.
First seen at Baselworld this past March, the new G-SHOCK MTGB1000-1A, soon to be in stores, boasts a thinner case than earlier MT-G models, yet retains its tough metal exterior while hosting new functions, notably the ability to connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth and BLE time-sync.

As the newest member of G-SHOCK’s luxury MT-G men’s collection, known for its ultra-strong metal and resin hybrid case construction, the new MTGB1000-1A features a polished look complete with a redesigned case that measures 1.11mm thinner and 1.58mm smaller in diameter.

G-SHOCK has also revamped the strap by melding urethane and fine resin, fixed by screws, then securely attaching it to the case with metal parts.

New core protection components strengthen the MTGB1000-1A.
Inside, the MTGB1000-1A’s Connected Engine module shares signals with a timeserver using a paired smartphone or by using radio wave time-calibration signals. The watch now immediately connects to the G-SHOCK Connected smartphone app, which means the wearer can easily set the world time and alarms. The same app will offer the wearer a reminder to charge the watch and can also warn about possible magnetic interference.

Of course, G-SHOCK’s Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping Technology provides accurate timekeeping virtually anywhere by using radio signals from up to six different transmitters worldwide. Other features here include: tough solar technology, standard G-SHOCK technology of 200M water resistance and shock resistance, dual dial world time (up to 300 cities selectable within the app), a full auto Super Illuminator LED light, stopwatch and countdown timer, daily alarm, and full auto calendar – all in the now slimmer 51.7mm case.

The G-SHOCK MTGB1000-1A ($800) is will be available in July at select jewelers, shopcasio.com, and the G-SHOCK Soho Store.
