(Sponsored post) With it deep links to high-speed automotive racing, Casio’s EDIFICE collection is the ultimate lap timer. And with this new steel-cased ECB900DB-1A, Casio makes it simple to use the built-in chronograph to time races, retain lap times and determine average speed. The watch’s 1/1000-second stopwatch comes with memory for 200 lap time records, and recording a lap time causes the lower right dial to indicate the average speed.

Away from the racetrack, the watch’s many functions can be quickly linked to your smartphone.

Once connected via Bluetooth to the Casio EDIFICE app, the EDIFICE ECB900DB-1A can be configured to account for daylight time saving. It also allows you to select from more than 300 cities for your World Time City, and simplifies alarm and countdown timer settings.
One look at the feature-filled black and red dial reveals the functions built in to the EDIFICE ECB900DB-1A. Note the digital displays at 12 o’clock and 9 o’clock, which team up with the analog indications to show information in an easy-to-understand format.

An edgy, large index is laid out on the EDIFICE dial.
The watch’s main dial and date display show Home Time (the time and date in the current location), while the World Time is seen in the digital window at 9 o’clock. World travelers can refer to the AM/PM display for immediate day/night orientation.

The inset dial ring on EDIFICE watches is constructed of lightweight resin.
Casio makes the new watch even easier to read in the dark thanks to its own Super Illuminator, which uses high-brightness LED illumination that automatically illuminates both the analog and the digital displays whenever you angle the watch towards your face.

This impressive collection of advanced features and functions is powered by a solar power system, with a proprietary shade dispersing solar panel. This means that the bold hands won’t interfere with the built-in solar panel’s power generation function. The result is uninterrupted, reliable operation without the need for periodic battery replacements. Price: $200.
