Following the closing of its watchmaking program, Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology is selling off the former program’s contents. The items for sale include watches, watch parts (new and used), watchmaker tools, storage cabinets, horology equipment and horology books.

The online auction runs from January 3 through January 29 with bids received through the OSU electronic procurement system. Reserve bid is set at $250,000, but all reasonable responses will be reviewed if the minimum is not met.

Award will be made to the highest dollar bidder. Loading, packing, and shipping of contents is the responsibility of the purchaser. All items included in the sale are to be removed at the bidder’s expense.

A special viewing of items to be sold will occur Jan. 9-10 from 8 am until noon at the University. Private viewings are also available upon request.

Sponsored by Rolex, the OSUIT Watchmaking school was one of the first such programs established on the OSUIT campus in 1946. The program trained graduates who later worked at major watch companies and fine jewelry outlets worldwide.
