Citizen recently introduced its latest video in celebration of its new ad campaign launched this month. The Better Starts Now campaign celebrates Citizens evolution throughout its 84 years in business and looks to the future of watchmaking.

The video mirrors the brand’s evolution, depicting Citizen’s accomplishments since 1930. Each technological advancement is coupled with corresponding camera-work of the time. For instance, in the 1930s scene, the clip was shot on a hand-cranked 35 millimeter camera and the 1980s scene was shot with a VHS camera.
Some of the video’s documented accomplishments include Citizen’s first pocket watch, dive-watch technologies and solar power with the last scenes of the video dedicated Citizen’s Atomic Timekeeping collection.
The ads will be integrated in all Citizen markets globally. This includes throughout the new Citizen flagship store in Times Square, set to open in Nov. The campaign will also be utilized at the US Tennis Open that starts in New York next week and the World Figure Skating Championships early next year.
