Hublot’s Big Bang Ferrari Limited Edition 60th Anniversary timepiece was one of the stars of a star-studded evening held at the impressive Petersen Auto Museum in Los Angeles on October 10. Hosted by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot and President of the Watch Division of the LVMH Group, the event welcomed watch and car enthusiasts as well as other high-profile individuals within the timepiece and auto industries to celebrate Ferrari’s 60 years in the U.S.A.
According to Mr. Biver, the relationship between Ferrari and Hublot, which began in 2011, is “perfect. We share so many elements—tradition, innovation, prestige, research into new materials, an immediately recognizable design…” He adds that the two brands share something else: each is powered by an engine.
Dinner culminated with the formal introduction of the new Hublot timepiece, a 60-piece limited edition, and a presentation of a Hublot wall clock, with which Mr. Biver honored Bruce Meyer, Founder of the Petersen Auto Museum.
The remainder of the weekend included Ferrari’s 60th Anniversary Gala dinner and auction on Saturday, where Ferrari collectors and celebrities, including Mary J. Blige and Megan Fox, joined Piero Ferrari and Ferrari executives to celebrate the history of Ferrari in America. On Sunday, a parade and exhibition featuring “Sixty Fabulous Ferraris on Rodeo Drive” were the featured events. As Ferraris traversed the streets of Beverly Hills, a Hublot-branded clock counter.
