Oscar de la Renta will be remembered for many things by those closest to him. Among the rest of us, it is his flair for design and his unflagging humanity that we will cling to while mourning his death on October 20. Mr. de la Renta was a true icon within the fashion industry, having outfitted so many first ladies and celebrities during his long and successful career. Probably less known is his commitment to various charitable causes—particularly those involving children.
His broad and talented reach extended into the watch world when Shinola partnered with him to create The Lattice limited edition timepiece introduced earlier this year.
