Day three of Watch Madness kicked off early this morning with two new games and the latest winners slotted in the Sweet 16. Girard-Perregaux’s Neo-Tourbillon with Three Bridges surpassed the Chopard L.U.C Tourbillion QF Fairmined by just 18 percent. On the other end of the bracket, Hublot’s Unico Magic Gold was unable to regain footing after Carl F. Bucherer’s Patravi ScubaTec Rosegold pushed into the lead early game-day morning.
As today’s competitions gain speed, Piaget vs. Jaquet Droz and Patek Philippe vs. Vacheron Constantin, margins are closing and clear cut winners are nowhere in sight.

Piaget Altiplano Chronograph
Introduced at this year’s SIHH, Piaget’s Altiplano Chronograph features an ultra-thin 41 millimeter case with hand-wound Altiplano flyback chronograph. While the case measures just 8.24 millimeters in thickness, the movement within measures even smaller at 4.65 millimeters. Thus setting yet another record in thinness for the Maison. The pink gold case holds an 883P caliber featuring a 50 hour power reserve and driving displays including hours, minutes, small seconds, 30-minute counter and 24 hour dual-time indication. The watch is presented on an alligator leather strap.
Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Deadbeat
The independent (or ‘deadbeat’) seconds is a rare complication created during the Age of Enlightment during the 18th century. This model pays tribute to the time period when individualism and analysis overshadowed traditional authority. Closely based on the original model, the Grande Seconde Deadbeat showcases subtle changes including a seconds hand now placed at the heart of the dial. In addition, retrograde date indication can be found in space traditionally reserved for the seconds hand. The case is forged in red gold and measures 43 millimeters in diameter with an ivory grand feu enameled dial.
Patek Philippe Ref. 5990/1A-001
In the spirit of Watch Madness, Patek Philippe chose one of its most sport-like timepieces, the Ref. 5990/1A-001. This 40.5 millimeter stainless steel Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph is featured in stainless steel and powered by a mechanical self-winding chronograph movement with a 60 minute counter. The timepiece also showcases a dual time zone mechanism indicating both local and home time. The dial is black gradated with gold applied luminous hour markers.
Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle World Time: Collection Excellence Platine
Delicately crafted by Vacheron Constantin, the Traditionnelle World Time: Collection Excellence Platine is presented in a 39.5 millimeter platinum case and drives indications corresponding to the world’s 37 time zones. The model is complete with day and night display through a central globe, as well as by a simplified crown adjustment of all indications. The display consists of three parts including the afore mentioned day and night indication, as well as an engraved and inked 24-hour indication and a platinum dial with map and a metal chapter ring.
