Watches That Won’t Last Long Online
Tudor Black Bay Heritage T79220B30STH60
The 41mm Tudor Black Bay Heritage has a blue bezel surrounding an easy to read black dial. This is an amazing dive watch, especially at this price point. The blue bezel is a unidirectional rotating bezel, making it perfect for diving! Another great diving aspect is the large screw down crown, reminiscent to a Tudor dive watch from the late 1950s. The large hour markers make this easy to read, especially underwater. Govberg Price: $2,350.
Seiko Grand Seiko SBGR053
The Grand Seiko is a classic watch and is an essential contemporary watch. This watch is powered by the Grand Seiko 9S65 movement, visible through the exhibition caseback. The smooth black dial is easy to read with hour markers that pop against the black dial. These hour markers and hands don’t have any lume on them, but instead they have beveled edges with brushed top facet. The dauphine hands and simple frame around the date make this watch even easier to read. Govberg Price: $2,750.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Geographique Limited Edition Q2142470
The manual wind Geographique Limited Edition features two beautiful dials, all on one manually wound watch. The white dial features an day/night indicator which transitions beautifully from day to night with glittering stars and gradation. On the reverse, the second timezone shimmers with a black lacquer pairing with guilloche. The two textures complement each other without overwhelming each other. Govberg Price: $19,500.
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi Bezel 116719
The white gold GMT Master II Pepsi Bezel is an iconic Rolex watch. The red and blue bezel were inspired by the Pan-Am pilots, who needed to keep track of time even while changing timezones. The white gold case means that you can feel the watch on your wrist but at the same time, it does not weigh you down. The unique part about this newer model GMT Master II is that the bezel is two-toned Cerachrom. Cerachrom is the in-house, Rolex developed ceramic used in place of aluminum bezels. The ceramic is mostly scratch resistant and the white gold is less susceptible to corrosion. This watch was nicknamed “Pepsi” due to the two-toned red and blue bezel. Govberg Price: $28,750.
F.P. Journe Octa Calendrier Platinum
The FP Journe Octa Calendrier in platinum is a wonderful example of a truly creative watch designed by a living watch legend. The grey dial plays off of the platinum tones and white subdials while being complemented with blue hands. The off centered hours, minutes and sub seconds dials is flawlessly balanced with a retrograde date, day and month apertures. Through the large sapphire caseback, you can see the movement powering the watch and a guilloche rotor. Govberg Price: $46,500.
Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph 5960R-011
The Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph is a very complex watch, all found in a 40.5mm rose gold case. The silver opaline dial is accented with rose gold hour markers and hands. Originally released in 2006, this is the first automatic chronograph with an annual calendar released by Patek Philippe. Unique to this watch is the chronograph hand that also serves as a center seconds hand. Govberg Price: $63,500.
