Aspen was the site of Vacheron Constantin’s Snow Golf Cup, where friends of the brand were invited to try their swing at the picturesque Snowmass Golf Club. This event, held March 10 to 13, was a stateside expansion of the Vacheron Constantin Snow Golf Cup that has been held in Megève, France, for almost two decades.
Sunny skies, spring-like temperatures and mountain views added to the enjoyment as teams of players made their way through the winter-white course chasing, yes, contrasting golf balls. Guests hailed from various locations around the U.S. and ranged from novice to proficient in their game, but they found common ground in their reverence for Vacheron Constantin watches, which were the center of conversation throughout the weekend.
Friday night offered U.S. collectors a first look at the new Overseas, introduced by President of Vacheron Constantin North America Vincent Brun and the brand’s International Commercial Director Yann Bouillonnec, at the St. Regis hotel. Attendees were given a pre-dinner opportunity to experience the extensive collection of men’s and ladies’ timepieces, each of which is bestowed with the Hallmark of Geneva and fitted with new Vacheron Constantin calibers. In addition, the watches feature an innovative strap system that allows the user to smoothly switch from bracelet to rubber strap to leather strap—no tools needed—effectively giving the owner “three watches in one,” according to Brun.
These 2016 models in the Overseas collection, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, were introduced in January at SIHH in Geneva and will make their formal U.S. debut in New York in the coming months.
