A. Lange & Söhne today unveils a special U.S. Limited Edition Saxonia Annual Calendar in a gesture that will undoubtedly thrill many domestic collectors. But these enthusiasts will need to act quickly because the Glashütte-based watchmaker is only making twenty-five, all of which will be found only at A. Lange & Söhne’s New York, Miami and Costa Mesa boutiques.
Already in-demand, this particular white gold Saxonia Annual Calendar will boast several unique features: Its outsize date features white numerals against grey background, and the watch’s 21-karat-gold rotor parts (framing the embossed A. Lange & Söhne logo) are plated in black rhodium. Both these accents haven’t been seen previously on any other A. Lange & Söhne timepiece.

For the first time, the rotor parts around the embossed A. Lange & Söhne logo are plated in black rhodium.
As a reminder, an annual calendar will ensure that the date remains correctly displayed regardless of the duration of any given month (assuming the watch remains wound). The date must only be advanced manually once a year when February becomes March. In addition to the time and date, the Saxonia Annual Calendar indicates the month, day of the week and moonphase. The latter feature is of the high-end variety, which means the moon phase display only needs to be corrected by one day every 122.6 years.

The A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar in white gold with a grey dial.
Since its debut eight years ago, the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Annual Calendar has been known for its contemporary, easy-to-read dial powered by a sophisticated self-winding Sax-0-Mat caliber with Lange’s patented Zero-Reset function. This feature means that when the wearer pulls out the crown, he or she stops the movement and the seconds hand jumps to the zero position. This makes it just a bit simpler to more accurately set the time.

The U.S. Limited Edition Saxonia Annual Calendar retains the collection’s 38.5mm case size, here made of white gold and attached to well-matched blue alligator strap. As noted above, this U.S. edition is only available at A. Lange & Söhne boutiques in New York, Miami and Costa Mesa. Price: $54,500, limited to twenty-five pieces.
