The Louis Vuitton Tambour éVolution collection presented a new look at the company’s signature Tambour designs when it debut in 2013. This year Louis Vuitton offers an ultra-masculine all-black DLC steel version of Tambour that emphasizes its strong design lines and offers an overt hi-tech profile.
This new look is being offered for the Tambour GMT, Chronographe GMT and Spin Time GMT models. All are automatic models and all feature case, lugs, crown bezel and crown insert forged from blackened DLC steel. Their black dials feature black applied figures and hour markers.
The most complex of the trio is the Spin Time that features Louis Vuitton’s own LV111 caliber automatic movement, developed and assembled at the firm’s own La Fabrique du Temps factory. Patented in 2010, the Spin Time displays the second time zone via rotating aluminum cubes.
The new coloring for all three models is accentuated by a new black calf leather bracelet with an embossed carbon pattern, and by a screw-down crown protected by a large Vuitton “V” as a reminder Louis Vuitton’s origins making travel bags and luggage.
